What is Nourish Me?
Nourish me is a creative, captivating and comprehensive nutrition education program for children. It is made up of short animated videos, designed to teach children all aspects of good nutrition and its impact on health and wellbeing.
Who has created Nourish Me?
The program is designed by qualified nutritionists using the latest evidence based research and in accordance with the Australian dietary guidelines.
Why do we need it in schools?
The implementation of Nourish Me's nutritition program will allow schools to fulfil their vital role in the future health and wellbeing of communities. Schools are also the ideal environment for obesity prevention as they reach large numbers of children frequently and over prolonged periods of time.

How much time does it need?
The program consisits of a series of short animated videos that requires only 5 to 10 minutes once a week during a school term. During 'crunch and sip' would be an appropriate time as you would be combining healthy foods with nutrition education creating a long lasting impression on the children's minds. Additional resources are available on the portal for teachers to use on demand.
Why do children need nutrition education?
One in four (25%) children and adolescents aged 2–17 were overweight or obese in 2017–18. Obesity is one of a multitude of public health issues in Australia. An awareness of good eating habits will encourage children to make better food choices, having a significant impact on the prevention of lifestyle related diseases.
What will children achieve from the program?
By implementing the program, schools can empower children in making educated and conscious decisions regarding their food choices. They are provided with a well rounded understanding of how food impacts their health. Nourish me has an elementary program for years 3 and 4 (stage 2) and an advanced program for years 5 and 6 (stage 3).
