Why do we need it in schools?

The implementation of Nourish Me's nutritition program will allow schools to fulfil their vital role in the future health and wellbeing of communities. Children learn and absorb information better from teachers, increasing the program's efficacy.

Why primary schools?

It is important to understand what we eat at an early age to build healthy eating habits. Learning about nutrition between the ages of 7 and 12 gives the children a good foundation.

What makes it easy to implement?

The program is self-explanatory and engaging for the children, the teachers do not need to do any prior research or lesson planning.

How much time does it need?

The program is a series of short 4-6 minute videos that can be played at any time during the school day.

Why do children need nutrition education?

One in four (25%) children and adolescents aged 2–17 were overweight or obese in 2017–18. Obesity is one of a multitude of public health issues in Australia. An awareness of good eating habits will encourage children to make better food choices, having a significant impact on the prevention of lifestyle related diseases.
